About the Role

As Senior Systems Engineering Department Lead, you will oversee our Systems Engineering department in Schiedam, providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure successful project execution and delivery. Your responsibilities include:

  • Create a productive team environment to maximize performance and delivery.
  • Perform line management activities to ensure team members meet their objectives and ambitions.
  • Manage resource planning to optimize allocation for project teams.
  • Build internal and external coalitions to achieve common strategic goals.
  • Suggest innovative solutions to increase efficiency or delivery.
  • Ensure the team provides insightful proposal reviews and adds value to cross-functional design reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, IT, Shipbuilding, or a related field.
  • At least ten years' experience in engineering and integration complex systems engineering solutions (shipbuilding, offshore, or maritime preferred).
  • At least two years of leadership experience and familiarity with management principles and techniques.
  • Good command of Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
  • Excellent references and permanent EU citizenship.

  • A competitive salary of approximately €85,000 per year, including 8% holiday pay.
  • 27 holidays and 13 ADV days per year.
  • Travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre.
  • PME-pension arrangement with an employer contribution of 60%.
  • Profit sharing based on company results.
  • Flexibility to work from home up to two days a week.
