Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Structural Hull Engineer to join our team at All About Expats. As a specialist in marine design, you will be responsible for contributing your expertise and knowledge within the Structural Hull discipline, particularly focusing on FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) and FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural integrity assessments for tanker conversions and new hull constructions in FPSO and FLNG projects, ensuring high-quality designs that meet industry standards.
  • Develop and analyze structural and naval designs for tanker conversions and new hulls, applying your knowledge of classification society rules (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds).
  • Support technology development initiatives for FPSO, FLNG, and renewable energy projects, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in the selection and evaluation of tankers for conversion to FPSO or FLNG units, using your expertise to identify potential opportunities.
  • Coordinate and create detailed 3D structural models and drawings for marine equipment, collaborating with designers and engineers.
  • Perform offshore inspections and provide support during shipyard conversion and construction projects, ensuring timely completion and quality results.

Requirements

  • MSc or BSc degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Offshore Structures, Naval Architecture, or a related field, specializing in structural analysis.
  • 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural design, particularly in the maritime or offshore industry, with a strong understanding of industry-standard software and tools.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design of hull structures, including experience with finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds) and industry standards for FPSO and FLNG design.
  • Experience in the engineering and design of floating units in the oil and gas industry, including experience with concept studies and pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phases.
  • Ability to tackle challenging tasks with urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Effective planning and prioritization skills to meet project and organizational goals, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
