We are seeking a highly skilled Device Physicist to join our team at the Photonic Integration Technology Center (PITC). As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing fabrication and integration processes for photonic integrated circuits.
Key Responsibilities:- Explore novel approaches to deposit and integrate thin-film piezoelectric materials with low-loss silicon nitride waveguides.
- Realize stress-based light modulation with minimal energy consumption.
- Exploit linear electro-optic effects to demonstrate high-speed electro-optical modulation.
- Develop second-order nonlinear processes on a chip, with low-loss and high-quality resonators.
- Collaborate with specialists from UT and TNO to contribute to roadmap development related to photonic integration.
- Participate in ongoing collaborative projects with international and local customers.
- PhD degree in Applied Physics, Nanoscience, or a related discipline with expertise in advanced semiconductor physics and thin-film technology.
- 4+ years' experience in technology development, working in a cleanroom, with profound knowledge of thin-film deposition and patterning, and device physics.
- Hands-on and taking responsibility, able to organize work efficiently and cooperatively.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
