Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team at the University of Groningen. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative project between the research groups of Dr. Ruben Bierings and Dr. Geert van den Bogaart, focusing on the identification of organelle trafficking routes responsible for Weibel-Palade body formation and secretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on SNARE protein trafficking to Weibel-Palade bodies using Förster resonance energy transfer-fluorescence lifetime imaging (FRET-FLIM) microscopy
  • Develop and apply novel microscopy methods to study WPB biogenesis and exocytosis
  • Collaborate with the research group of Dr. Geert van den Bogaart to conduct biochemical assays of WPB cargo secretion and optical assays of WPB exocytosis
  • Contribute to the development of a PhD training program and participate in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering
Requirements
  • Master degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Good command of English (oral and written)
  • Enthusiastic and team player
  • Experience with mammalian cell biology and advanced microscopy approaches is an advantage

  • Salary of € 2,770 gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of € 3,539 gross per month in the fourth and final year

  • Minimum of 29 holidays and additional 12 holidays in case of full-time employment
