About You

  • As a Junior Cloud Operations Engineer at one of the leading airports globally, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our data lake while adhering to cutting-edge technological and organizational standards.
  • In this position, you will collaborate with the Core Data Platform team, providing essential technical support and leadership in the development of a modern data infrastructure.
  • The Data Platform team is central to the Data and Analytics department, delivering reliable and certified data to Schiphol and beyond.

Your Role

As an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer with a strong interest in data, you bring some development experience and a desire to enhance your skills. You will contribute to connecting the Netherlands with the global community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining our existing platform and ensuring smooth data streams to our consumers.
  • Assisting in the design, implementation, and testing of cloud-based (Azure) data-intensive applications.
  • Collaborating with Lead Engineers, Data Architects, and Enterprise Architects to devise technical solutions.
  • Providing daily support to team members whenever possible.

Your Impact

In this role, you will drive change and inspire others to embrace it. You will take ownership of your decisions and responsibilities. Additionally, you possess:

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.).
  • Approximately two years of professional development or data experience, with a significant project during your studies potentially fulfilling part of this requirement.
  • Familiarity with distributed data environments, with experience in Confluent Kafka being a plus.
  • Proficiency in a current programming language (preferably Scala, Java, or Python).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or another cloud service provider.
  • Comfort in utilizing the latest DevOps technologies.
  • Fluency in English, with knowledge of Dutch being an advantage.
