Overview

As a Junior Cloud Operations Engineer at Royal Schiphol Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data lake, aligning with the latest technological advancements and organizational standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the functionality of our data lake while collaborating with the Core Data Platform team to provide technical support and leadership in building a modern data infrastructure.
  • Engage with the Data Platform team, which is central to the DnA department, delivering reliable and certified data to various stakeholders.
  • Maintain existing platforms and ensure seamless data streams to our data consumers.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and testing of cloud-based (Azure) data-intensive applications.
  • Work closely with Lead Engineers, Data Architects, and Enterprise Architects to develop technical solutions.
  • Support team members on a daily basis, fostering a collaborative environment.

Your Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in data and a foundational background in development. You should be eager to enhance your skills and contribute to connecting the Netherlands with the global community. Your qualifications include:

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics).
  • Approximately two years of professional experience in development or data-related roles; notable projects during your studies may be considered.
  • Familiarity with distributed data environments, with experience in Confluent Kafka being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (preferably Scala, Java, or Python).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud service providers.
  • Comfortable working with contemporary DevOps technologies.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary ranging from €4,400 to €6,127 gross per month (scale 11).
  • An annual bonus of 8.33%.
  • A daily work-from-home allowance of €3.00 net.
