As a Marine Propulsion Technician in our workshop, you will take charge of the maintenance, repair, assembly, and enhancement of various marine propulsion systems, including Controllable Pitch Propellers, Tunnel and Steerable Thrusters, and Oil Supply Units. For each project assigned, you will utilize Wärtsilä's manuals, guidelines, schematics, and procedures.
You will have the opportunity to engage in a technically stimulating environment within the maritime industry. As a technician, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of 20 propulsion specialists. Experienced technicians may have the chance to work autonomously on their own projects within a small team, while junior or trainee technicians will receive guidance and training from seasoned colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of complete propulsion systems and components.
- Address any discrepancies or non-conformities in collaboration with the workshop supervisor.
- Follow order/project documentation and checklists meticulously.
- Ensure compliance with Wärtsilä's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workshop, particularly your own workspace.
What We Expect From You:
- Technical expertise and experience in mechanical assembly processes.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend technical assembly drawings and instructions.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Capacity to work under pressure, with the flexibility to participate in overtime and weekend shifts as required for specific projects.
