Chemical Assistance Officer

Job Summary
This position is part of the Assistance and Protection Branch (APB) within the International Cooperation and Assistance Division of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. The main objective of the Chemical Assistance Officer is to provide administrative support in the organisation of workshops and seminars, and provide other administrative and secretarial support for the implementation of Article X.
Main Responsibilities
The incumbent provides administrative support for projects on the implementation of Article X for State Parties in various regions. Key tasks include preparing documentation for administrative support, announcing courses and events through the Eventus platform, and coordinating with hosting National Authorities. The Chemical Assistance Officer will also provide information and logistics regarding arrangements for courses, track budgets for APB events, and prepare and maintain relevant internal and external correspondence.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have at least three years of clerical and administrative working experience, and demonstrated experience in a customer-servicing role. A high school diploma or equivalent diploma of higher secondary education is required. Fluency in English is essential, and a good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
