Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Manager to oversee and manage our indirect tax functions—including sales tax, VAT, GST, and other transaction-based taxes—to ensure compliance, optimize tax positions, and support our global expansion initiatives.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of periodic indirect tax returns (e.g., sales tax, VAT, GST) in all applicable jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely and accurate remittance of taxes, while monitoring changes in tax regulations that impact ecommerce transactions.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
- Conduct regular internal reviews to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and internal policies.
Process Improvement & Strategy:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve indirect tax processes and systems, leveraging automation and technology solutions where possible.
- Identify opportunities for tax efficiency and risk mitigation, partnering with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and operations.
Audit & Risk Management:
- Support operations and broader teams in understanding tax implications of new initiatives, product launches, and market entries.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, communicating potential impacts and recommended actions to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, planning, or advisory roles, preferably within ecommerce, retail, or a digital environment.
- Strong knowledge of sales tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions; US preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with tax automation tools and ERP systems.
