ASML is seeking a talented student to join our EUV Factory team as an intern. As a data-driven prediction model developer, you will work on a project that aims to improve new system design success in manufacturing by predicting and catching design flaws during engineering reviews.
Background InformationThe EUV Factory organization is responsible for the system build and install of EUV systems. Within the EUV factory, the EF System Engineering department is the factory representative in the early design process of the new systems. The goal is to ensure a smooth introduction of new systems, within the cycle time and cost targets.
Your AssignmentYou will leverage your skills in data analysis and engineering principles to build upgrades prediction model and engineering review guidance for factory engineers. This assignment has 4 different layers:
- Data Collection and Integration:
- Identify, access and integrate relevant data sources (e.g., design documents, manufacturing logs, upgrade requests)
- Clean and pre-process the data for analysis
- Analyze the collected data to identify and categorize the root causes of design flaws encountered in past systems/platforms
- Quantify the impact of these design flaws on the manufacturing process (e.g., cycle time increase, rework percentage)
- Utilize data science techniques to develop a model that can predict the likelihood of design flaws (needed upgrades) on new system design based on historical upgrades data
- Develop a set of guidelines for factory engineers to incorporate into the design and review process
- These guidelines should leverage the findings from the data analysis and aim to prevent common design flaws encountered in past systems
To be the perfect match for this internship, you:
- Are a bachelor/HBO student looking for a graduation project or a master student looking for an apprentice internship;
- Have a study background in Engineering, with a specialization or an affinity with Data Science;
- Have (project) experience with engineering root cause analysis and data modeling;
- Have good interpersonal skills, are self-driven and persistent.

In addition to a monthly internship allowance of maximum €600 (plus a possible housing and/or travel allowance), you will have the opportunity to work on a real-world project that can make a significant impact on the company's success.
