Physics Internship: Straylight Prediction Model Development

Introduction

We are seeking a highly motivated master student in physics or optics to join our team at ASML as an intern. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project related to straylight prediction model development.

Background Information

Our team is responsible for predicting and optimizing the performance of our scanners in customer wafer fabs. We are looking for a talented individual to contribute to our Imaging competence, which focuses on developing advanced imaging and metrology techniques.

Your Assignment

As an intern, you will work on developing a straylight prediction model, which is a critical component of our lithography system. Your tasks will include:

  • Improving our current understanding of straylight and its contribution to system performance
  • Developing a Point Spread Function (PSF) model to simulate straylight behavior
  • Testing and validating the PSF model using physical data
Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A master's degree in physics or optics
  • Strong knowledge of scientific programming languages, such as MATLAB or Python
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must:

  • Be enrolled at a higher education institution for the entire duration of the internship
  • Be located in the Netherlands during the internship period
  • Meet the minimum requirements for working hours and duration
