Machine Learning Researcher Position in Amsterdam

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. As a researcher, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating novel methodologies for machine learning.
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will be working on inventing and evaluating new methods for machine learning. Your research should have practical consequences and contribute to the advancement of the field. You will also be required to present your research findings at international conferences, workshops, and journals.
You will assist in teaching activities, including teaching courses and supervising master and PhD students. Additionally, you will actively participate in Delta Lab 2 activities, which may involve visits to the Bosch headquarters in Renningen, Germany.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
- Experience in programming and software development is essential, with a preference for Python and statistical computing libraries such as NumPy, PyTorch, or JAX.
- You should have enthusiasm for the scientific process, including formulating and conducting experiments, data collection and analysis, and disseminating findings through writing and oral presentations.
- Ability to cooperate and work effectively within a team is necessary.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
- We offer a temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for a period of 24 months.
- The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between €3,000 and €5,000 (scale 10).
- UvA offers an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
- The UFO profile Researcher 4 is applicable.
- A favourable tax agreement, the '30% ruling', may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
