Payroll Specialist for Germany

Role OverviewThe Payroll Representative is tasked with the following responsibilities:
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for employees.
• Adhere to the relevant tax legislation of the country.
• Comply with established labor conditions and internal company policies.
• Execute and oversee administrative and control tasks for the Dow Payroll department.
• Demonstrate a structured and process-oriented approach to work, with a keen attention to detail.
• Maintain flexibility in tasks while managing a high workload effectively.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on payroll issues in interactions with both local and international partners.
• Collaborate closely with other HR departments.
• Manage the interchange of salary input and output data with the payroll provider, ensuring accurate calculations and validations.
• Conduct ad-hoc reporting and perform additional duties as necessary.
• A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing is essential.
• Proficiency in both German and English is mandatory (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with Workday, ServiceNow, MS Office, and SAP is preferred.
• Knowledge of any other European language is advantageous.
• Ability to understand organizational interdependencies and experience in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
• Experience in high-volume operational settings is necessary.
• Prior participation in audits and understanding of internal controls is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to manage competing priorities are essential.
• This role requires significant coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, emphasizing accountability and ownership of data and processes.
