FP&A Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled finance professional to join our team as an FP&A Controller. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for closing, budgeting, and forecasting financial statements for Danone, a global purchasing organization with a spend of 3 billion euros.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead budgeting, consolidation, closing, and coordinate with finance teams across Danone to continuously improve the accuracy of the forecasting process.
  • Off-Balance Sheet Commitments: Consolidate off-balance sheet commitments (over 500 million euros) for Group reporting and present them to the Board of Directors for future decision-making.
  • Audit and Compliance: Lead the audit process of off-balance sheet commitments in close collaboration with DBS and support business controlling to prepare accurate accruals for monthly closing by sharing information from legal contacts.
Free Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
  • Working Capital Analysis: Animate buyers to improve DPO and FCF, and conduct working capital analysis and improvement.
  • Cash Forecasting: Improve cash forecast and landing accuracy and implement tools for better cash management, such as confirming.
Business Partnering:
  • Financial Support: Support category buyers with financial aspects embedded in supply contracts, including commitments, liabilities, payment terms, rebates, bonuses, and trade terms.
  • Legal Support: Support the Legal team with finance expertise in managing legal risks in contracts, policies, and tools implementation.
  • Data Support: Support the Data team with finance expertise in selecting, designing, and implementing new tools.
Contract Management:
  • Contract Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end contract cycle, from contract pipelines to quantifying legal and financial impact for the C&P organization.
  • Contract Repository: Ensure the contract depository tool is the most reliable source of information and reflects existing commitments and obligations towards suppliers and other Danone Business Units.
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative model with Buyers, Legal, and local Finance teams to achieve the above objectives.
  • Digital Transformation: Participate in the digital transformation of cycles and procurement by co-leading contract and purchasing tools implementation and improvement (Zycus, AI).

We are looking for a highly skilled finance professional with a degree in finance and at least 5+ years of experience in a dynamic international organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in reporting, IFRS, and accounting, and be an advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is a plus. This role requires impactful presentation skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to drive and manage change. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building and fostering cross-functional relationships, along with solid stakeholder management. The candidate should be an influencer and enabler, a self-starter who can propose and co-drive improvements to current processes.
