Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to take on the role of Director, Procurement for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at IFF, focusing on Raw Materials. The ideal candidate will oversee key supplier relationships to ensure they align with IFF's strategic objectives, while also guiding the team in developing and maintaining a robust strategy for sourcing a competitive and cost-effective portfolio of raw materials across all manufacturing facilities in the region. This portfolio will encompass materials sourced locally, utilizing a unified supply base and responding to similar market dynamics.
The selected individual will be responsible for managing raw material costs and performance, advising the business on decisions related to commodity-based materials, and establishing sourcing strategies that align with both global and local business needs. This role necessitates regional interactions with suppliers and a comprehensive understanding of market and supply networks. The position plays a crucial role in contributing to key company, functional, and regional business strategies as well as cost initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of regional category strategies for assigned categories and sub-categories to ensure a reliable supply of raw materials, manage costs, and capture savings.
- Manage key supplier relationships within the region.
- Regularly analyze and disseminate market intelligence to support informed business and pricing decisions.
- Implement a disciplined approach to strategic sourcing methodologies.
- Assist the team in developing market intelligence and conducting market analyses.
- Foster new and existing supplier partnerships to support growth strategies through innovation and technology.
- Identify risks and create contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with team members to define optimization and continuous improvement initiatives in raw materials.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality and service KPIs through collaboration with relevant departments.
- Work closely with the Responsible Sourcing Team on supplier and ingredient risk assessments.
- Ensure suppliers are aware of IFF's sustainability goals and have actionable plans to meet these targets.
- Demonstrate experience in identifying, developing, and nurturing supplier relationships.
- Engage cross-functionally with various departments and possess experience in matrix organizations.
- Exhibit strong communication skills (both written and verbal) in English, facilitating global interactions.
- Display team leadership, project management, and analytical capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in procurement within the designated area, with deep product knowledge and connections in key supply markets (including commodities, processing chemicals, enzymes, and other ingredients).
- Experience in team management.
- Relevant supply chain experience in the domain of raw materials, supplier relationship management, and supply chain best practices.
- Strong understanding of business practices and financial implications.
- Certifications such as CPSM or SPSM in supply chain or procurement excellence are preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
- A graduate degree, preferably an MBA or a degree related to supply chain and material sciences.
