We invite applications for the position of Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor (multiple openings). This role is intended to commence promptly on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the potential for renewal based on satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the conclusion of a second four-year fixed-term contract.
Candidates must hold a medical qualification that is registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and should ideally have achieved Fellow status with the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or an equivalent credential. A strong clinical background and proficiency in the relevant specialty are essential, along with proven experience in educating medical students, interns, and trainees. A demonstrated ability to initiate and contribute to basic, clinical, and/or translational research is crucial. Higher academic qualifications (e.g., MD, MS, PhD) are advantageous.
Appointees will be aligned with relevant departments and will play a strategic role in expanding clinical services. They will also focus on the education of medical students, postgraduate teaching, supervision, and academic research. Duties may include responsibilities at affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Candidates with lesser qualifications and experience may be considered for the Clinical Assistant Professor role. There will be opportunities for professional growth, career advancement, and mentorship, with dedicated time for educational and clinical research activities based on the appointees' interests and achievements.
A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be provided, along with annual leave and medical benefits. Current tax rates do not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointments will include a contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. A start-up package tailored to the needs and experience of the appointee will be offered, along with a monthly cash allowance and applicable housing benefits.
