Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to join our team at SMART Photonics. As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting time studies, analyzing production processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Conducting time studies to establish standard times for various tasks and processes within the industrial setting.
- Analyzing production processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, solve critical manufacturing issues, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies.

Daily Tasks

- Assessment and investigation of critical manufacturing issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Performing impact and risk analysis on the performance or reliability of final devices and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment.
- Initiating, coordinating, and leading Tiger Teams to solve complex and high-priority manufacturing issues.
- Ensuring resulting continuous improvements and recommendations are communicated and implemented in the design, process, equipment, or manufacturing line.
- Creating summary dashboards on active Incident Protocols to provide stakeholders and the leadership team with an up-to-date overview of ongoing risks and timelines.
- Prioritizing concurrent investigations to ensure throughput of solutions to the manufacturing organization.
- Engaging and participating in FMEA, Control Plan, and Change Control activities to assess and minimize risks of manufacturing incidents.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Electronics, Physics, Industrialization, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of semiconductor processes and production techniques.
- 2 to 7 years' experience in a similar role within the semiconductor industry.
- Experience with Silicon or InP photonics and/or knowledge of World Class Operations Management is a benefit.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment where deadlines and commitments are met.
- Multidisciplinary engineer who effortlessly works with various departments in the process of the technological product lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical (statistical) problem-solving skills/knowledge.
- Programming/scripting experience for data extraction and statistical analysis, process simulation, and industrial engineering software tools.
- A team player who knows how to motivate a team to realize the next improvement.
- A person who offers a true Bias for Action, coming, overseeing, and solving.
