Job Description

As a key member of the ESA Technology Harmonisation Office, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Harmonisation Cycles. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting Harmonisation Cycles
  • Distribution of Documentation: You will be responsible for distributing documentation provided by the Agency, using ESA's IT infrastructure, and according to the list of Space Entities.
  • Collection and Consolidation of Inputs: You will collect inputs and comments on the distributed documentation and provide consolidated results in advance of relevant meetings.
  • Participation Statistics and Lessons Learned: You will provide participation statistics and conduct a 'lessons learned' analysis at the end of each consultation round.
Consolidation of Harmonisation Documents
  • Editorial Tasks: You will engage in editorial tasks to prepare final THD and RM for each technology topic, including correcting graphs and statistics, transferring relevant parts, and creating cover pages.
  • Preparation of Conclusion Document: You will prepare a first draft of the Conclusions document based on the content of each THD and RM.
  • Interface with ESA Groups: You will interface with relevant ESA groups to link/transfer relevant parts of each RM to ESA IT tools.
Supporting Harmonisation Work Plan Preparation
  • Liaising with ESA Representatives: You will liaise with relevant ESA representatives to identify required and available personnel for the upcoming year of Harmonisation.
  • Defining Harmonisation Scope: You will work with Book Captains to define the scope of Harmonisation for each technology foreseen to be harmonised the following year.
  • Drafting Harmonisation Work Plan: You will prepare a draft list of topics for Harmonisation and the first draft of the Harmonisation Work Plan for the upcoming year.
Promoting and Disseminating Information
  • Circulating Harmonisation Documentation: You will circulate Harmonisation documentation describing the process and status of activities to indicated Space Entities.
  • Maintaining Public Harmonisation Website: You will maintain the public Harmonisation website up to date.
  • Maintaining Internal Harmonisation Sharepoint Site: You will maintain the internal Harmonisation Sharepoint site up to date, including creating folder structures, uploading template documents, and granting access rights.
General Support to Harmonisation
  • Supporting Mapping Meetings and Roadmap Meetings: You will support the preparation of Mapping Meeting, Roadmap Meeting, and THAG only sessions, interfacing with relevant site services for logistic and organisational aspects.
  • Verifying Consistency between Harmonisation Roadmaps and ESA Technology Workplans: You will verify the consistency between Harmonisation Roadmaps and ESA Technology Workplans.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters in Aerospace Engineering or Relevant Discipline: You will have a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At Least 2 Years of Experience in Space Systems Engineering: You will have at least 2 years of experience in Space Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with IT Tools and Python/Scripting: You will have experience with IT tools for online surveys, document storing and management tools, and Python/scripting to automate certain tasks.
  • Experience in Coordinating Consultations and Online Surveys: You will have experience in coordinating consultations and online surveys.
  • Familiarity with R&D Area and Technology Development Processes: You will have familiarity and experience in the R&D area and technology development processes, particularly in the space sector.
  • Knowledge of Programme/Project Management and Controlling Methods and Tools: You will have knowledge of Programme/Project management and controlling methods and tools.
  • Autonomy, Authority, and Ability to Interface with ESA Staff: You will have autonomy, authority, and the ability to interface with ESA staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated Ability to Analyse and Synthesise Complex Information: You will have demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise complex information.
  • Good Verbal and Written Communications: You will have good verbal and written communications.
  • Fluency in English and Knowledge of Another European Language: You will have fluency in English and knowledge of another European language.
