Cost Accounting Manager

The Cost Accounting Manager at Yacht plays a crucial role in providing financial support and leadership to the BD DS business. This includes providing financial guidance and oversight to Finance and Operations leaders, driving financial objectives, and formulating and executing Operations strategies.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting and reporting procedures, ensuring product costs and manufacturing performance are reported accurately, and safeguarding product inventories and manufacturing assets. The Cost Accounting Manager will also interact with Global Marketing, Research and Development, and other General & Administrative functions, driving change and ensuring compliance to GAAP/SOX.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain budget, forecast, and spending variance analysis and reporting.
2. Partner with Manufacturing Directors and Plant ESC to optimize finance-related operational decisions, introduce process discipline, and safeguard company assets.
3. Drive continuous financial improvement through Labor Analysis, Gross Profit analysis, Inventory analysis, New Product and Discontinuance Analysis, and Spending analysis.
4. Ensure financial reports and records are prepared in compliance with US GAAP and Yacht financial policies.
5. Maintain and ensure financial controls are in place, meeting the requirements of the Sarbanes/Oxley Act.
6. Assist internal and external auditors with their periodic review of Yacht's financial records, implementing agreed-upon recommendations.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Possess a track record of managing increasing levels of responsibility, successful business partnering at a senior level, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to improve controls and influence decisions through accounting knowledge and data-driven financial analysis.
• Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and Finance knowledge are required.
• Advanced Excel skills are necessary.
• ERP experience is necessary; specifically, SAP experience is preferred.
• Audit experience is a preferred.
Education and Experience
• Requires 3+ years of relevant professional Accounting and/or Finance experience; inclusive of product costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory control experience.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent). A CPA, MBA, or CMA is preferred.
