About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Avanade, you will be part of a globally recognized team of experts in data engineering. We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for helping clients make better data-driven decisions to tackle their most complex business issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade analytics solutions based on Azure and Databricks technologies.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their personal development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure and Databricks technologies and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Work closely with high-profile clients across various sectors to understand their requirements and present solutions.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Demonstrable end-to-end experience in data engineering.
  • Experience in working with the latest Azure technologies, such as Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen 2), and Cosmos DB.
  • Understanding of software engineering tools and concepts, including experience in Python, Scala, or PySpark.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical terms to non-technical audiences and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Leadership skills to manage small development teams and track work, manage assignments, and manage capacity.
  • EU citizenship is a strong requirement for this position.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch for effective communication within multinational teams and with stakeholders.
  • Microsoft Azure expertise, including proficiency in Azure Data Services like Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Data modeling and warehousing skills, including designing scalable data models and maintaining data warehouses using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure technologies.
  • ETL development experience, including developing and optimizing ETL processes with Azure Data Factory and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Programming and scripting skills, including proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for effective data manipulation and processing.
  • Data security and compliance knowledge, including implementing security measures and compliance standards relevant to data operations on Microsoft platforms.
