QHSSE Department Manager

Acta Marine is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior QHSSE Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our QHSSE department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our maritime operations and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, security, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement, update, review, and audit QHSSE systems to ensure compliance with company directives and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate the effective implementation of QHSSE system procedures and ensure timely updates in line with changes in legislation and company directives.
- Promote a safety culture ashore and onboard, and motivate staff to comply with company system procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits in the office and on board our vessels.
- Assist with incident investigations and provide support to departments on QHSSE-related subjects.
- Ensure proper HSE reporting from assigned vessels and prepare QHSSE documentation for new tenders.
- Initiate required QHSSE safety inductions and/or training for staff and crew.
- Participate in risk assessments sessions, such as HAZID's, and be responsible for the BHV plan (availability, training, exercises).
- Assist the new build team with document administration and certification.
- Technical & nautical education/MAROF.
- Safety science/Engineering education preferably IVK, MKV, or HVK, or willing to obtain this.
- 1 or 2 years of experience on a seagoing vessel (apprentice period included).
- Knowledge of Management Systems, Incidents Investigation, Auditing Techniques, and Risk Management.
- Knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other relevant Nautical Standards and codes.
- Fluency in both Dutch and English.
- Open to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Good organizational skills, able to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic operational environment.
- Self-motivated and driven to succeed, with a constructive and professional attitude.
- Strong analytical, auditing, and reporting skills.
- Enthusiastic people-person with excellent communication skills.
