Accounting Specialist Role Overview



The Accounting Specialist is a key position within the Finance Division at MUFG, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and processes.



Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and coordinate all accounting activities and processes, ensuring compliance with Japanese GAAP and IFRS standards.

  • Develop and maintain accurate financial analysis and reporting, providing insights to support business decisions.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, HR, Statutory, and Management & Regulatory Reporting, to ensure seamless processes and effective communication.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Coach and develop junior colleagues, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.



Requirements



  • Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.

  • At least 6 years of experience in financial accounting or financial reporting, preferably in the banking industry.

  • Proven experience with (multi-)GAAP environments, accounting hubs/ERP systems, and group consolidation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.

  • Integrity and accuracy, with a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.



What We Offer



  • A competitive gross salary based on experience, consistent with the market.

  • An 8% holiday allowance and 13th month payment.

  • 30 vacation days per year, with the option to purchase additional days.

  • A commuting allowance based on annual public transport costs or a mileage reimbursement rate.

  • A €5,000 net remote working compensation per month, with a maximum of €60,000 per year.

  • The possibility to order a mobile phone and office equipment for home use, up to €800 and €500, respectively.
