Senior Quantitative Model Developer for Credit Risk Modelling

ING is a leading international bank looking for an expert in IFRS 9 methodology to join its Financial Risk Model Development department.

The team is responsible for developing and managing financial risk models, including credit risk models, to empower ING's customers to make informed financial decisions.

We are seeking a specialist with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help tackle complex challenges such as assessing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on ING's balance sheet and identifying significant increased credit risk conditional to changes in default definition.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to develop and maintain methodologies for measuring and managing risks, as well as guiding and advising model development colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing methodology based on best practices, academic research, and extensive analysis of model-related regulatory frameworks
  • Assisting in testing and fine-tuning IFRS 9 methodologies
  • Providing content support to model development teams and explaining IFRS 9 methodologies and results to senior management

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • MSc degree or PhD in mathematics, physics, econometrics
  • Experience with development of credit risk models
  • Excellent knowledge of statistics and/or mathematics
  • Excellent programming skills, preferably in SAS, SQL, Python, R
  • 2+ years experience with risk modelling
  • Preferably experience in IFRS 9 model development

The salary for this position is approximately €80,000 - €100,000 per year, depending on your qualifications and experience.
