Research Assistant Professor/Post-doctoral Fellow in Epidemiology or Biostatistics

We are seeking highly qualified individuals to fill several Research Assistant Professor/Post-doctoral Fellow positions in the School of Public Health at HKU. The appointees will be primarily responsible for conducting applied and methodological work in epidemiological and/or statistical research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct power/sample size estimation and generate tables and figures for reports and presentations
  • Write scientific publications, grant proposals, and reports
  • Assist in general administrative, operational, and other duties as assigned

The focus of one of the posts will include The World Health Organization World Mental Health Survey Initiative and the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI), which is one of the largest cross-national mental health studies in the world.

Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree by research (Ph.D., D.Sc., Dr.P.H. or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related disciplines
  • Strong quantitative background and experience in analyzing epidemiological data using R, STATA, SAS, or other statistical packages
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For Research Assistant Professor, the appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
