Job Title: Business Controller

About the Role

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled Business Controller to join our dynamic and international Controlling team in Nootdorp. As a Business Controller, you will be responsible for financial control, reporting to the Fugro group, and delivering accurate and meaningful financial analysis to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the month-end closing process, including determination of (project) accruals and provisions, project valuation, review of P&L and Balance Sheet, and analysis of fluctuations compared to forecast.
  • Act as a finance business partner, pro-actively advising management on finance & business topics.
  • Monitor financial processes and support in the coordination of project control, cost control, internal cost rate calculations, and take care of improvement and maintenance of internal control of business-related processes.
  • Support in management reporting, annual profit plan, and monthly forecast process.
  • Support the coordination of internal and external audit processes and ensure tax compliance and statutory requirements of the company's permanent establishments.
  • Involved in IT system improvements for business finance perspective, including recommendations in design, coordination of user acceptance testing, and ensuring business processes are adapted where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Accounting and Control and with project organisations.
  • Understanding of IFRS and experience in working with ERP Systems (Business Central) and Corporate Consolidation Management Systems (Tagetik).
  • Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels (finance, business management, operations) and an excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
  • Enjoy working in a team, have well-developed analytical skills, and are accurate and pro-active.
