Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced sustainability professional to join our team as the Director of Sustainability Technology. In this newly created role, you will play a crucial part in developing sustainability data delivery strategies for internal stakeholders and customers, building strategic customer relationships, and empowering sales teams with technical sustainability materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the decarbonization data and analytics team, ensuring the accurate and timely collection, analysis, and reporting of GHG emissions data.
- Oversee the development and implementation of climate risk evaluation methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer sustainability data, enabling effective communication of Equinix's sustainability initiatives and performance.
- Empower sales teams by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and technical training to effectively communicate Equinix's sustainability value proposition to customers.
- Develop and execute sales engagement strategies that leverage sustainability as a differentiator, driving revenue growth and customer loyalty.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to sustainability, and provide strategic guidance to the Vice President of Sustainability and other stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the Sustainability Program Office.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's (BS) degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental or Computer Science, Engineering, or Business) is required. Advanced degree preferred (MSc, MBA).
- Several years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related fields, with a focus on data analytics and technology. Experience in the Data Center Industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of GHG accounting methodologies, climate risk evaluation frameworks, and sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, GRI).
- Proven track record of successfully managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Direct experience working with customers or customer-facing teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and organizational levels, fostering a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Passion for sustainability and a deep understanding of the business case for integrating sustainability into core business strategies.
