Data Science Team Manager

At Brenntag, we're embarking on a transformative journey to liberate our data and enhance decision-making. As a key pillar in our group-wide transformation, Data & Analytics is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Analytics Lead to spearhead the creation of cutting-edge solutions.
This exciting role involves leading the Advanced Analytics team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing analytics products that drive business impact. As a Data Science Team Manager, you'll be accountable for creating a team of skilled data scientists who collaborate, share knowledge, and drive best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced analytics solutions to drive business growth and improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions
- Partner with business teams to translate analytical findings into compelling business plans
- Build trust and drive business adoption by demystifying solution intricacies
- Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, focusing on performance, goals, and development potential
- Guide the development and execution of advanced analytics solutions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques
- Drive a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the Advanced Analytics community
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, statistics, mathematics)
- 6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
- Strong people management capability, with 2+ years in a leadership role preferred
- Experience with programming languages (Python, R)
- In-depth knowledge of applied data science and probability/statistics
- Strong experience in communicating analysis results to technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborative individual who thrives in a team environment
- Innovative problem solver with a bias for action
- Working understanding of CRISP-DM, Agile data science framework, and XP Programming
