Job Context
ASML is constantly pushing the limits of technology into areas where nobody has gone before.
Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification and design of the ASML products. The Defectivity and Optics Lifetime departments are responsible for creating the perfect environment for the reticle, wafer and optics, by designing the flow in vacuum, choosing the correct materials and defining and helping to secure the right level of cleanliness. The Process and Cleanliness Control group within Defectivity & Optics Lifetime Solutions Department is responsible for the development of cleaning and cleanliness qualification methods, and to secure cleanliness in the supply chain, ASML factories and in the field. The group does this in close collaboration with Zeiss, partner of ASML that delivers the optical modules of our systems.
DGL-m (dynamic gas lock membrane) is a highly advanced thin film technology, located between the optical column and the wafer (stage) and is one of the challenging projects that demands excellent collaboration between supplier and the design experts from ASML to get the required quality and, therefore, close supplier quality interface within the D&E project team.
Job description
As a Supply Chain Cleanliness Engineer in the Process and Cleanliness Control group you will work with ASML Hardware (HW) projects and suppliers in order to secure the cleanliness of hardware modules. This means explaining the ASML cleanliness requirements towards the internal HW project and supplier, defining which verification methods are needed and assessing where and how to improve our suppliers. Based on the identified improvements you define an action plan and enable the supplier to follow up on these actions together with the ASML project. The role is within the new EUV platform that ASML currently is working on, initially focusing on DGL-membrane.
Next to securing ASML cleanliness requirements, it is important this is done in a cost-effective way. For this requisition, it is considered a pre if you have experience in project management or as a scrum master, because we are preferably looking for a candidate who can lead a small project aimed at reducing cost of implementing our cleanliness requirements.
Role and responsibilities
Support Suppliers in defining cleanliness strategies for products, including cleaning, verification and clean way of working methods.
Audit Suppliers on their cleanliness readiness. Define actions to improve.
Deliverables that secure Supplier Parts Quality in ASML product generation process, e.g:
Acceptance of the design and/or specification by the supplier.
Parts qualification process
Definition of process flow and process FMEA.
Execute product release with respect to cleanliness.
[Pre] Lead a small project aimed at reducing cost involved with our cleanliness requirements, including reporting towards internal stakeholder
Education and experience
Education in and expertise with contamination control on parts level is a must. You should have an Bachelor or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related field of study. Six sigma green or black belt is considered a pre.
Multiple years of experience with contamination control of parts during production in the supply chain, during assembly at ASML and at the customer.
Solid theoretical and practical experience with cleanliness and verification methods.
Familiar with ICPMS/RGA/XPS/SEM measurements
Experience with SW that supports statistical analysis
Several years of experience in project management or as scrum master is considered a strong pre for leading the cleanliness cost reduction project.
Theoretical and practical experience in thin film technologies
Personal skills
