The Department of Psychology
As the first psychology department in Hong Kong, established in 1968, our department has a rich history of academic excellence. Ranked 3rd in Asia and 36th worldwide in the 2023 QS World University Ranking in the subject of Psychology, our 21 faculty members and over 90 research postgraduates and postdoctoral fellows actively engage in a wide range of research areas.
Position Description
We seek a visionary leader with outstanding academic credentials and a commitment to fostering a thriving research community. The successful candidate will have the administrative experience necessary to lead the department, excel in strategic planning, and drive positive outcomes in our research and teaching programs.
The Head of Department will demonstrate strong leadership, administration, and interpersonal skills and will be responsible for building extensive networks within the community and contributing significantly to the Faculty's leadership structure.
Compensation and Benefits
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered alongside annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will also include a contract-end gratuity, University contributions to a retirement benefits scheme (up to 15% of basic salary), and housing benefits as applicable.
