About the Role:

The Senior Financial Analyst is a strategic finance partner responsible for supporting the financial planning, forecasting, and performance management of a rapidly growing data center business. This role requires a deep understanding of capital-intensive infrastructure projects, recurring revenue models, and the operational metrics that drive data center profitability. The role will support executive decision-making through financial modeling, scenario planning, and analysis of both operational and commercial performance across multiple sites and new developments. This position reports directly to Group Head of Finance and is based in our HQ in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

What you'll do:

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Capacity Planning

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes for data center operations, capital projects, and commercial performance.
• Consolidate multi-site forecasts and ensure alignment with the company's expansion strategy.
• Drive capacity planning to support growth, utilization targets, and future development requirements.

Financial and Capex Modelling

• Build detailed financial models for new data center developments, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Evaluate pricing strategies, contract structures, wholesale vs. retail demand, and customer-level profitability.
• Support funding processes by developing robust project finance models for lenders and investors.

Reporting and Insights

• Develop and deliver monthly and quarterly performance dashboards covering key data center KPIs, including utilization %, churn, revenue segments, contracted vs. billed MW, EBITDA margins, and energy cost per kWh.
• Prepare Board-level reporting, including variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and margin improvement opportunities.

Process Optimization and Systems Improvement

• Improve financial planning processes by strengthening data flows between engineering, operations, and finance functions.
• Enhance use of BI tools and dashboards for automated KPI reporting.
• Establish best-practice methodologies for capacity forecasting, revenue modelling, and energy cost forecasting.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• CA, ACA, or CIMA qualification required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in FP&A or finance, with a strong track record across Africa.
• Experience working in international or multi-country environments, preferably within Africa.
• Experience managing multicultural teams and advising senior leadership.

Skills & Attributes:

• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and planning system
• Fluency in French and/or Portuguese is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
• Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
• Sound judgment and excellent decision-making capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage change, resolve conflict, and foster collaboration.
