Finance Lead

Dapper is looking for a Finance Lead with a pioneering spirit - someone ambitious to help us build the #1 B2B marketing agency worldwide.

As Dapper's first full-time finance hire, you'll build, run, and scale the financial foundation that powers our growth. You move easily between detail and strategy, ensuring numbers are right, insights are sharp, and decisions are smart. You'll shape how finance operates, make it scalable, and turn data into impact.

This job is for you if you

• Want to build and own the entire finance function at Dapper: from daily operations and reporting to strategic planning and forecasting.

• Have a solid foundation with 5-8 years of experience in finance including 2–4 years beyond accountancy within a scale-up, agency, or SME environment. You have a solid grounding in accounting, audit, or FP&A — ideally with a Big 4 or equivalent background.

• Want to design and implement scalable systems, automating processes and improving efficiency across tools and workflows.

• You have outstanding communication skills in English.

• Turn numbers into clarity: you translate complex data into engaging, visual insights and dashboards that help the whole company understand performance, priorities, and impact.

• Make finance meaningful and fun: you bring transparency, simplicity, and energy to the way financial information is shared and used across teams.

• Bring structure to cash flow, budgets, margins, and scenario planning, ensuring the business grows sustainably.

• Are hands-on when needed: you roll up your sleeves for invoicing, month-end closing, and reporting, but always with an eye on improvement of processes and scalability.

• Act as a strategic partner to the COO and CEO, guiding key decisions on investments, growth plans, and profitability while collaborating closely with Operations, HR, and client teams.

• Balance a sharp eye for compliance, tax, and structure with a pragmatic, human approach to teamwork.

• Combine strategic and hands-on thinking: you're comfortable owning P&L, cash flow, and forecasting while staying analytical, pragmatic, and proactive.

• Love to build and optimize — creating scalable processes, automation, and smart data integrations that enable better decisions and efficiency.

• Communicate with clarity: you make complex financial topics simple, visual, and actionable for everyone across the organization.

• Want to grow with us: this is Dapper's first dedicated finance role, with high potential to evolve into Head of Finance as the team scales.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & Control

• Own the full financial operation: budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and reporting.

• Manage invoicing, payments, and expense control, ensuring accurate and timely execution.

• Oversee bookkeeping and compliance in collaboration with the external accounting firm (including VAT, annual close, and audits).

• Build and improve scalable financial processes, automation, and internal controls.

• Monitor liquidity and flag financial risks or deviations early.

Planning, Analysis & Decision Support

• Build real-time data dashboards that give both management and team members clear visibility into performance, costs, and progress.

• Prepare monthly management reports that translate numbers into actionable insights.

• Create and update forecasts and budgets that guide strategic and operational decisions.

• Analyze margins, cost structures, and profitability to identify improvement opportunities.

• Act as sparring partner and work closely with the COO and CEO.

Process Design & System Development

• Set up and continuously optimize Dapper's finance systems and tools for scalability and efficiency.

• Introduce automation and AI-driven solutions to improve accuracy and reduce manual work.

• Streamline workflows across finance, operations, and project teams.

• Drive data consistency and integration between finance, HR, and performance data.

Governance & Collaboration

• Bring finance to life across the organization — sharing insights in clear, visual ways and helping everyone understand the story behind the numbers.

• Ensure financial compliance and governance standards are met across all entities (Netherlands and Portugal).

• Work closely with the COO on operational planning and cashflow strategy.

• Align with department leads to support financial transparency, ownership, and accountability.

• Support leadership in building a culture of financial awareness and discipline.
