Our client is an export-focused Irish company specialising in the processing, sales, and distribution of marine algae products into the global animal nutrition sector. With exports to over 40 countries, the business has a well-established and growing footprint across ruminant and monogastric markets.

Opportunity:

We are seeking a proactive, commercially focused, and technically strong Technical Sales Manager to support and grow business across the Netherlands, Germany, the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Finland), and Eastern Europe. The core of the role is technical sales and working closely with existing partners and distributors while developing new business with key accounts across these regions. The ideal candidate brings a strong scientific background (ideally PhD), several years in technical sales, and the ability to communicate confidently with nutritionists, feed mills, integrators, and producers.

Responsibilities

:

  • Achieve territory revenue and margin targets across multiple European markets.
  • Develop new business by acquiring end customers and deepening distributor relationships.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners to meet annual forecasted targets.
  • Provide in-depth technical training and support, communicating the benefits and applications of the company's products and blends.
  • Grow and manage a strong sales pipeline through the CRM system.
  • Prepare and execute a territory business plan aligned to annual targets.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with partners and customers.
  • Deliver accurate quarterly forecasts based on direct partner/customer engagement.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the region.
  • Present clear, evidence-based technical and applied product benefits to key accounts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive offerings, pricing, and positioning.
  • Process sales orders through internal systems efficiently and accurately.
  • Carry out field sales activities and manage the territory to exceed sales and profit budgets.
  • Monitor competitor activity and feed insights back to marketing and sales leadership.

Candidate Requirements

:

  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Nutrition required; Master's or PhD strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' proven technical sales experience in animal nutrition, selling to major accounts, independent nutritionists, feed mills, and producers.
  • Strong understanding of both Monogastric and Ruminant nutrition.
  • Experience selling sodium bicarbonate or feed-additive solutions is an advantage.
  • Ability to sell technically sophisticated nutrition solutions and hold detailed scientific discussions.
  • Established relationships with major key accounts, producers, feed mills, nutritionists, and distributors.
  • Strong commercial mindset with proven negotiation and closing skills.
  • Experience working with structured sales processes and CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong presentation capability.
  • Fluency in English required; German and/or Dutch are major advantages.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Comfortable managing a technical sales role across multiple regions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet tools, PowerPoint, CRM software, and accurate data entry.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be based within the territory.
