Are you as excited as we are when we talk about the distribution of bulk liquids operated by the world's largest and most sophisticated fleet of chemical and parcel tankers, with over 100 ships?

As our Fleet Operator you actively manage voyage execution and ensure that our ships are provided support on how to perform best. You are responsible for the planning of bunkers and for the evaluation of this planning.

Stolt Tankers a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist in transporting bulk liquids: Chemicals, clean petroleum, gases, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals. We are continuously seeking how we can add value for our customers.

What you will be doing.

You will handle the day-to-day planning and voyage management across our global fleet, ensuring each sea voyage is executed efficiently and seamlessly. A key focus of your role will be fleetwide bunker planning, where you will optimize fuel management across all our vessels to support operational excellence and sustainability.

You will also oversee the planning of hull cleaning schedules to ensure peak performance.

Collaboration is central to your work, as you'll maintain close contact with the ship's Captain and be ready to tackle sensitive situations with a calm and controlled approach. With our tankers travelling the world, your goal will be to keep our ships and cargo safe, our customers satisfied, and voyages optimized.

You will be working from our Rotterdam office located in the historic Veerhaven area, within a professional team. We offer the possibility to partially work remote.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that masters have the required information to plan sea going voyages in accordance with commercial requirements
  • Verifies that voyage plans are prepared so that sea voyage can be executed in the most efficient way.
  • Calculates different voyage plans to review and decide on different scenarios
  • Monitors and records adherence to voyage plans, signals, and records all deviations from plan and informs parties of changing commercial requirements
  • Reviews and has the authority to decide whether requested deviations are given approval
  • Identifies under performance of individual ships with regards to speed and consumption. Informs responsible departments or person about identified underperformance
  • Is responsible for speed and consumption records being maintained

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree or equivalent level working experience.
  • Proven track record in Ship Operations or sea going experience.
  • A good understanding of applied weather routing processes.
  • A keen interest in exploring and adapting to new fuels and sustainable practices within the shipping industry.
  • You are a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills in English.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical skills and has the ability to interpret and recognize trends in large data sets.
  • You are comfortable in taking ownership.
