Organize, lead, and coordinate all production and maintenance activities of a highly automated, continuous-production plant, ensuring compliance with deadlines, quality standards, and applicable regulations. The main objective is to maximize asset availability, optimize processes, and reduce operational and cost inefficiencies, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Define the industrial strategy (production and maintenance) aimed at efficiency and optimal use of technical, human, and financial resources.
  • Lead the plant organization, with approximately 7 direct reports (including a coordination role) and 25 technicians across shifts, ensuring proper training, performance, and development.
  • Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance, minimizing unplanned corrective actions and increasing equipment reliability (MTBF/MTTR).
  • Ensure the planning and sequencing of the production schedule, coordinating procurement, inventory, energy consumption, and relationships with suppliers and external services.
  • Manage the department budget and cost control, analyzing deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Systematically monitor key performance indicators (OEE, availability, waste/scrap, maintenance plan compliance, energy consumption, safety) and report results with corresponding improvement plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, RCM, 5S, standardization), internal audits, and actions to optimize processes and cost structures.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure operational consistency and efficient value chain flow.
  • Guarantee compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards, promoting a preventive culture and operational excellence.
  • Ensure the effective use of information systems (ERP, e.g., AS/400, and CMMS), maintaining data accuracy and traceability of all actions.

Requirements

  • University degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience managing production and maintenance operations in automated and/or continuous-process industrial plants.
  • Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams working in shifts.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial planning, asset reliability, and spare parts management.
  • Experience in budgeting and cost control, with the ability to analyze variances and implement corrective measures.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., AS/400) and CMMS, as well as in operational KPI management.
  • High level of professional English; knowledge of Spanish or other languages will be an asset.
