Job Summary

The Manager Ocean Freight is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of 6 (Senior) Ocean Freight Specialists and 1 Supervisor Ocean Freight. This role involves ensuring the smooth execution of end-to-end ocean forwarding processes, driving operational excellence, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The Manager Ocean Freight will play a key role in transforming the team from a multi-cultural to an inter-cultural unit, enhancing team P&L performance, developing talent, exceeding customer expectations, and integrating innovative solutions.

What are you going to do?

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and lead a team of 6 (Senior) Ocean Freight Specialists and 1 Supervisor Ocean Freight.
  • Oversee end-to-end ocean forwarding processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Foster team building and create a cohesive inter-cultural team environment.
  • Monitor and enhance team P&L performance.
  • Develop and mentor team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations through exceptional service and innovative solutions.
  • Integrate and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and outcomes.

Who are we looking for:

  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry preferred.
  • Good team player, service-oriented and self-motivated
  • Organizational and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Be able to write and speak in English and Dutch. Chinese is a plus
