At ChainCraft, we turn chemistry circular. Through our innovative biotechnological processes, we convert agrifood residues into valuable bio-based fatty acids, sustainable building blocks for a cleaner, greener future.
Our scale-up is entering an exciting growth phase, and we're looking for a Business Development Manager to accelerate our commercial expansion and further strengthen our market position.
In this role, you'll take the lead in identifying and developing new market opportunities, managing key accounts, and shaping our go-to-market strategy. You know how to translate technological innovation into tangible commercial success, working closely with a driven and mission-oriented team. We're looking for someone who combines technical understanding with sharp commercial instincts, someone who knows how to turn innovation into impact.
Your role
You'll develop compelling value propositions that demonstrate what makes ChainCraft's innovative products unique and how they create value for our customers. By building strong, long-term relationships with both leads and internal stakeholders, you connect commercial opportunities with technical capabilities. You keep a close eye on the market, tracking trends, customer needs, competitors, and regulatory developments, and translate those insights into concrete actions. At the same time, you ensure accurate reporting of sales activities and pipeline data so that strategy and execution go hand in hand.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement go-to-market strategies
for your assigned market segments
: determine the most effective way to position ChainCraft's products, identify target customers and sectors, and design the right approach and value proposition. You translate strategy into action, from market analysis to positioning and pricing.Steer application development projects:
work closely with the Application Specialist to develop new applications for ChainCraft's bio-based fatty acids. You translate customer needs into technical opportunities and ensure development aligns with market demand.Negotiate contracts and partnerships
with customers and external stakeholders: manage the entire commercial process, from first contact to contract signature, balancing profitability with long-term partnerships.Build and maintain strong relationships
with leads, customers, and internal stakeholders: collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Operations teams to connect commercial insights with technical expertise.Represent ChainCraft
at conferences, trade shows, and other industry events: act as the face of ChainCraft, showcasing our technology and vision, expanding our network, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
About you
You combine technical savviness with a strong commercial mindset and thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment. As an inquisitive self-starter, you enjoy working both independently and in the team to create new opportunities and close impactful deals. With your excellent communication and presentation skills, you know how to convince customers of the value of our solutions. Sustainability is your driving force, you link environmental impact with commercial growth and build stable supply chains. Your strategic mindset and flexibility enable you to recognize and seize opportunities in an environment where innovation takes center stage.
You bring:
- BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Technology Management, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in business development or marketing within the chemical or food ingredients industry.
- Experience in conceptual selling and bringing new (bio-based) technologies to market is a plus.
- Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus.
