Business Analyst – Data & Analytics (Hybrid, Netherlands)

Join a leading Dutch financial institution driving data-driven decision making across its organization. You'll work in agile squads within the Data & Analytics Tribe, supporting business initiatives with structured, unstructured, and high-volume data, as well as streaming data. Together with data engineers, solution architects, and product owners, you help translate complex business needs into practical, scalable data solutions.

What you'll do

  • Gather functional and technical requirements for the design, development, and testing of data pipelines and models.
  • Define the scope of new data and system deliveries in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Set up test plans, perform functional tests, and investigate data issues.
  • Conduct impact analyses and draft high-level solutions for new initiatives.
  • Maintain robust documentation for all models moved into production.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to define and prioritize backlog items.
  • Contribute to projects analyzing and improving the organization's data landscape.
  • Work as part of a DevOps team following Scrum principles.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a business analyst, ideally with experience in Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, and historical data handling.
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills; understanding of data engineering, lifecycle, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Azure and Databricks is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a highly technical and competitive environment.
  • Team player with conceptual thinking and a helicopter view.
  • Skilled at translating complex concepts into actionable solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with product managers, solution architects, and business analysts.
  • Familiarity with banking or financial products is an advantage.
  • Experience with Data-as-a-Product and AI-ready data is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (B1 minimum).
  • Proven project management skills.
