What To Expect
The Senior Data Scientist – Inventory Optimization, EMEA Service Parts role is responsible for optimizing Tesla's Service Parts inventory strategy and Network Operations. The role will be accountable for performing analyses on our Service Parts inventory and deliver insights to improve our inventory strategy across our EMEA distribution network. Additionally, the role will contribute to the Inventory Optimization efforts that power our Inventory Planning for Service Parts. For this, the incoming Scientist will have to use a blend of optimization and statistical modeling. The role also requires the ability to understand the connection between real-world processes and their representation in our systems.

The role will work closely with other Scientists and Planners in the Parts Planning team and additionally will be in close contact to our Systems and Field Operation teams.

What You'll Do- Design, develop, and deploy optimization, simulation and machine learning models to optimize Tesla's Service Parts inventory across EMEA
- Perform analyses to identify potential improvements across Tesla's Parts Supply Chain
- Translate business challenges into an analytical plan, think practically and creatively to craft effective solutions to complex problems
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Demand Planning, Material Planning and Field Operation teams
What You'll Bring- 2-4 Years of experience, depending on educational qualification (bachelor's or master's Degree)
- Degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Knowledge about Optimization techniques, such as, Mixed-integer optimization, Nonlinear optimization & Stochastic optimization
- Passionate about planning, solving complex problems, and working with various stakeholders
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and a solid understanding of programming principles
- Continuous improvement, growth mindset and strong intellectual curiosity
