About the role

Are you an experienced (precision) Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineer, currently working in a machine building or technical environment, and looking to take the next step toward a more project-based role in the high-tech industry? Then this opportunity might be exactly what you're looking for.

As an Equipment Engineer / Project Leader, you are responsible for the realization and optimization of special tooling and production equipment for assembly and manufacturing lines. Around 90% of the work is outsourced to specialized suppliers, which you will manage and guide throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll do

You will independently lead equipment projects from concept to implementation. This includes:

  • Visiting internal customers to understand requirements and ask the right technical questions.
  • Translating customer and R&D input into a clear Program of Requirements and developing a fixed-price solution together with suppliers.
  • Coordinating and managing external partners and suppliers throughout the design and build process.
  • Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at supplier locations (mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and occasionally Italy) to verify that the equipment meets all functional and safety specifications.
  • Overseeing installation, commissioning, and final handover to production and operations.
  • Continuously identifying opportunities for equipment optimization and process improvements.

Your profile

You are an independent, proactive engineer who enjoys both the technical and organizational aspects of project work. You can translate functional requirements into smart, practical solutions and communicate effectively with both customers and suppliers.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience as an Engineer in machine building, production, or process engineering.
  • Proven project leadership skills, with basic planning abilities (e.g., using Excel) or knowledge of methodologies such as PRINCE2 or IPMA.
  • Experience in outsourced equipment development and supplier management.
  • Understanding of functional safety and ability to assess technical solutions from a performance and risk perspective.
  • Good command of Dutch and English (spoken and written).
