About the Role

The Senior Safety Specialist (EU) supports Packsize's European operations by implementing and maintaining key safety programs in alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and EU/national regulations. Based in Amsterdam with EU travel, this role leads risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations while strengthening a proactive safety culture across facilities and field service teams. You will also help standardize global safety programs for the EU region to ensure consistent and effective safety practices.

What You'll Do

• Ensure compliance with EU and national safety regulations and maintain ISO 45001/14001 systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and develop corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and manage reporting through Velocity EHS (or similar).
• Support field technicians and contractors with safe work permits, JHAs, and contractor management.
• Deliver safety training and support safety committees and worker participation programs.
• Track and report key safety KPIs for EU operations.
• Partner with Operations, R&D, and leadership to integrate safety into equipment, processes, and new projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and enhance safety performance.
• • Coordinate Health & Safety Pre-Qualification documentation and Customer Site Access Compliance processes for field and project teams.
• Travel within the EU to support Packsize sites, customer locations, and audits as required.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent EU-recognized safety certification.
• 5–10 years of OHS experience in manufacturing, packaging, logistics, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of EU and national safety regulations.
• Proven experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation and auditing.
• Strong communication and coaching skills; able to influence at all levels.
• Ability to work independently across multiple EU sites.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret safety data and trends.
• Fluency in English.

What's Nice to Have

• Additional EU language (German, Dutch, or Polish).
• Experience in field service or contractor-heavy environments.
• Knowledge of machinery safety, LOTO, or CE requirements.
• Familiarity with ESG principles or Velocity EHS.
• Experience supporting ISO internal or external audits.
• Background in ergonomics or industrial safety assessments.
