About The Role Reporting to the COO EMEA, the Head of Operations is responsible for superior service delivery to underwriters, brokers and clients. The role includes managing underwriting support staff in the Netherlands. Member of the Senior Management Team, providing status and development updates on Global Operations. Manages a team of ten in‐country Underwriting Assistants, overseeing hiring, performance, development and scheduling. Acts as the key contact for business process outsourcing providers (e.g., Accenture), monitoring service delivery, highlighting risks, forecasting transaction volumes and reviewing invoice accuracy. Leads projects such as the implementation of the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP) and contributes to process design and operating model considerations. Collaborates across the EMEA region to support process standardization and design/implementation of underwriting operating models. Builds relationships with brokers and market stakeholders (e.g., TPAs) and represents AIG in market bodies (e.g., eABS). Translates quality, processing timeliness and service delivery requirements into metrics and recommends performance measurement improvements. Ensures compliance with insurance, taxation laws and internal audit guidelines. Works closely with IT, project management and business analysts on system updates, acting as a change agent and support for adoption. Attends underwriting reviews and operational meetings, reporting on process changes and backlog status. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or 7‐10 years of related commercial insurance experience. 3 years of recent, direct team‐management experience. Strong knowledge of program and reinsurance structures. PCPA, ARM or related commercial insurance designation coursework preferable. Advanced knowledge of commercial P&C insurance and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in commercial P&C rating, coding and underwriting assistant skills. Strong written and oral communication skills in Dutch and English. Proactive, independent work ethic with people‐management, delegation, prioritization and problem‐solving skills. Excellent marketing, influencing, negotiating and communication skills with C‐suite leaders.
