The Role & What You Will Be Doing

This key position is responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic and operational aspects of logistics operational excellence including all current and future logistics transformation projects for the EM region. Drive improvement programs throughout the JANZ & Emerging Markets region, ensuring full participation in global related activities. Gain a competitive advantage ensuring optimum spend in the region.

Major Accountabilities:

Regional Trade and Customs, Warehousing and Distribution Oversight & Management

Coordination of Regional W&D Budget and Strat Plan

Cost Management and Performance

Logistics Escalation Management

Budget preparation

Trade and customs controls, ensuring compliance in every market.

Drive improved process changes throughout the region for logistics and trade and customs.

Ensure implementation of Global Freight Policies across EM region

Temperature Controlled Logistics and Incidents

Transport Validation

Training & Documentation

Freight Key Performance Indicators

Training of all Logistics colleagues on Freight Audit and Payment Solution. Collaboration with Finance and Sourcing on Freight Invoicing Audit and Payment Preparation
 

Regional Oversight & Management of LSP & Warehousing Sites

Support optimization of Logistics Service Providers in markets and across regions.

Support Supply Point and Supply Hub Activities

Direct shipments to Distributor Markets

Ensure Narcotic and Psychotropic Licensing is implemented appropriately across markets

Align Warehousing Key Performance Indicators across region
 

Strategy

Work closely with JANZ & EM Commercial SC lead and Global Logistics Team to develop a roadmap and strategy to optimize all logistics activities in the region. 

Contribute to Global Logistics activities, ensuring JANZ & EM requirements are supported in all new programs and strategies.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

University or College degree; APICS certification is desirable

At least 10 years relevant experience, preferably in pharmaceutical logistics operations encompass planning, critical thinking and systems thinking. We consider applicants with relevant experience from food, FMCG or other industries

Knowledge of GMP and GDP (applicable EU laws and requirements) is highly desirable

Excellent communication, persuading, influencing, decision making skills and project management skills.

Experience working in a matrixed global environment.

Experience with dynamic and complex supply chains is preferred.

Good understanding and working knowledge with ERP applications (material planning, warehouse management modules); Strong experience with SAP, including system implementation, is highly desirable

Must possess exceptional leadership skills

Demonstrated track record in successfully implementing long-term change both from cultural and operational perspective

Successful candidates need to be change leaders in Viatris

Other languages an advantage but not essential

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office systems essential
