Internal Audit Director

You will shape and lead the Internal Audit Function (IAF) at Redcare Pharmacy N.V, and serve the organization as a sparring partner that drives improvements in complex environments. The set-up of a dedicated IAF is a next step in further professionalizing our fast-growing company. We were founded in 2001, currently serve well over 10 million active customers and patients in seven countries in western Europe (at the end of 2024 10.8 million active customers which was up 1.5 million versus the prior year), consistently have grown by double-digits over the past years, hold market-leading positions with strong brands, have high customer satisfaction scores, and are stock-listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange.

Primary scope of the Internal Audit Function is to further strengthen core business processes which often have a technological component. The Director Internal Audit is responsible for the internal audit plan and execution thereof. Internal audit drives best practices in core business processes. Additionally, the function reviews IT, Finance, HR and relevant governance and compliance-related matters.

You report to the CEO of Redcare Pharmacy, have a direct line to the Audit Committee and have direct cooperation with the CFO of Redcare Pharmacy and Director Corporate Compliance and Governance. An organizational set-up in line with best practice recommendations from the Dutch Corporate Governance Code.

This position can be filled hybrid in Germany or in the Netherlands. We would like to see you in the office in Cologne or Sevenum 2-3x per week.

About the role:

• Manage the Internal Audit function; drive an Internal Audit roadmap that will deliver value-added audits in the areas of finance and accounting, operations (of which examples are software development, IT, HR and cyber security), and governance and compliance.

• Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial and operational controls, compliance with policies and regulations.

• Ensure timely planning, prepare high-quality and easy-to-understand reports with clear findings, recommendations and action plans to address identified issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to timely follow up on audit-findings, monitor implementation of recommendations, and track progress.

• Present the audit results to the Management Board and Audit Committee.

• Consult and coordinate with other risk functions across the organization in order to maintain a comprehensive view of risk management.

• Interact with the external auditor.

About you:

• Bachelor / Masters / MBA with qualification in e.g. RA, RO, RE, or CIA.

• 10+ years of working experience of which 2 to 5 years in a managerial position.

• Experience in financial/operational auditing preferably in a comparable listed company. Additional adjacent experiences within professional services firms or other relevant function are an advantage.

• Experience in technology environments as well as international experience.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, a self-starter who connects to the business and other specialized departments in the already existing organization.

• You communicate effectively and simplify complex matters.

• Process, problem-solving, and action-orientated mindset.

• Fluent in business English, and minimally a basic understanding of German.
