over het onderwerp “Machine Learning voor de bestrijding van cyberdreiging”.

Functiebeschrijving

De afgelopen jaren is cyberdreiging dramatisch toegenomen met (potentieel) grote impact op het goed functioneren van onze moderne samenleving. Dit heeft de behoefte doen ontstaan aan de ontwikkeling van nieuwe en krachtige methoden om cyberweerbaarheid te vergroten. Tegelijkertijd bieden kunstmatige intelligentie en machine learning kansen voor de ontwikkeling van dergelijke methoden.

De drie PhD-posities zijn gericht op het ontwikkelen van nieuwe modellen, methoden en machine-learning technieken, en het evalueren van hun effectiviteit op het versterken van de cyberweerbaarheid. Onderwerpen die van belang zijn, zijn onder meer inbraakdetectiesystemen, Active Learning, transfer learning, neurale netwerken en generative adverserial networks.

Wat wij vragen

Je hebt een masterdiploma Operations Research, Informatica, Kunstmatige Intelligentie of Toegepaste Wiskunde of een aanverwant vakgebied. Je hebt kennis van (en affiniteit met) data science en machine learning. Je hebt een talent voor het doen van onderzoek en beheerst het Engels uitstekend, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk. Omdat het project veel samenwerking vraagt met Nederlandse organisaties, is de beheersing van de Nederlandse taal in woord en geschrift een vereiste.

Wat wij bieden

De arbeidsvoorwaarden zijn conform de CAO-onderzoeksinstellingen. De initiële arbeidsovereenkomst zal een duur van 18 maanden hebben. Na een positieve evaluatie wordt de overeenkomst met 30 maanden verlengd. Het bruto maandsalaris voor een promovendus op voltijdse basis bedraagt € 2.781,- gedurende het eerste jaar en loopt op tot € 3.562,- over de periode van vier jaar. Daarnaast heeft de werknemer recht op een vakantietoeslag van 8% van het bruto jaarsalaris en een eindejaarsuitkering van 8,33%. CWI biedt aantrekkelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden.

Positie

Wij bieden drie fulltime PhD-postities van 4 jaar aan. Je wordt tewerkgesteld binnen de Stochastics-groep op het CWI. Uitstekende begeleidings- en ontwikkelmogelijkheden tijdens je promotie-onderzoek.
