Walking through the refrigerated aisles, you spot a great bargain—salad leaves marked down to 70%, thanks to a dynamic discount ensuring they sell before expiration and avoid waste. Yet another data science model working quietly in the background.

 

Stepping out onto the street you realize that it’s not just your local store—these models run in more than a thousand stores across the Netherlands and Belgium. And it’s not just the stores—your team’s models are also optimizing the supply chain and online orders, making sure packing and delivery run smooth and efficiently

As Medior Data Scientist Forecasting (Operations) you:

  • Improve our forecasts through analysis, modelling and experimentation
  • Code, test and put forecasting models into production
  • Work on ETL pipelines (SQL) to make sure we work with up-to-date and correct data
  • Convey complex ideas to different audiences in an effective manner
  • Work in multidisciplinary product teams and closely to our business stakeholders
  • Share your knowledge with and learn from other team members

 

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • A Master in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Econometrics, Computer Science, or other relevant studies (or demonstrably relevant experience, and interest)
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Applied Statistical techniques
  • Strong knowledge of Python
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using modern software development practices (IDEs, Unit testing, Version Control, CI/CD, etc.)
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms, Microsoft Azure Databricks and Spark are a plus
