We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Poeldijk, Netherlands.

As a Commercial Manager for Central Europe, you will play a vital role in expanding and managing our business opportunities, primarily in avocados, with some involvement in mangoes. Focusing on wholesale trade and select retail accounts in the Netherlands, you’ll develop and implement business strategies to capitalize on market opportunities, drive growth, and build strong partnerships with key players in the fresh produce industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • New Business Development & Market Expansion: You’ll identify and secure new business opportunities with wholesalers and select retailers, while staying ahead of market trends to drive our presence in the avocado sector.
  • Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop targeted sales strategies and use market insights to support product development and optimise our position in fresh produce sales.
  • Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with wholesale and retail partners, ensuring excellent service and customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Excellence & Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align on product availability, pricing, and delivery to meet market demands.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in fresh produce sales, ideally with a focus on avocados or similar perishable products.
  • Strong knowledge of the wholesale trade landscape.
  • Business development skills and a strategic approach to sales within a European market.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with mangoes or other complementary fruit categories.
  • Experience with retailers across Europe, ideally on a pan-European level.
  • Strong analytical skills with a knack for interpreting market data.
