Junior Analist Stem Cell Technology Center and cell culture facility

InthispositionyouwillworkfourdaysintheSCTC,withfourtechniciansandaseniorscientist,andonedayinthecellculturefacility,togetherwithothertwotechnicians.AmongthetasksoftheSCTCandthecellculturefacilitytherearesomaticcellreprogrammingintoiPSCs,iPSCdifferentiationintoseveralcelltypesandgenomeeditingbyCrispr/Cas9,primarycellcultureandEBV-immortalizationoflymphoblasts.
IntheSCTCpluripotentstemcellsaremadefromdifferenttypesofsomaticcellsofpersonswithhereditarydiseases.Subsequently,thesestemcellsarecharacterizedontheir'stemness'withquantitativeRT-PCRandimmunocytochemistry.Thisworkisperformedforstudiesofcolleaguesfromvariousdepartments.Sometimesthestemcellswillbedifferentiatedtospecializedcelltypes,suchasretinalcellsorneuronalcells,andthesecellswillalsobecharacterizedandanalysed.TheCellculturefacilityisresponsibleforobtainingcelllinesfromdifferenthumantissues,bloodandskinbiopsies,fortheregistrationandreceiptofbiologicalmaterial,andformanagingthestorageofthecelllinesofthedepartment.
Tasksandresponsibilities Worksindependentlyaccordingtoestablishedcellcultureprotocolsandregulations. Determinesthemethod,progressandresultsoftheanalyses. Contributiontooptimizationandinnovationofthetechnologycentre. Worksregularlyonweekends. Signsandremediesequipmentfailures.
Profiel
Wearelookingforsomeonewhorecentlygraduatedinarelevanthigherprofessionaleducation,forexamplelifesciences.Youhaveatleast5monthsexperiencewithgrowingeukaryoticcells.Additionally,youhaveknowledgeofimmunochemicaldeterminations,cloningtechniquesandqRT-PCR:fromprimerdesigntodataanalysis.

TheStemCellTechnologyCenter(SCTC)isa10year-oldfacilitywithinthedepartmentofHumanGeneticsinwhichstemcellsaremadefromdifferenttypesofsomaticcells.TheSCTCsupportsthescientificresearchofthedepartmentofHumanGeneticsandothers,locatedwithinandoutsidetheRadboudumc.ThecellculturefacilitysupportsthediagnosticsandtheresearchofthedepartmentofHumanGeneticsandotherdepartmentswithinandoutsidetheRadboudumc.
