DNV Energy Systems is looking for a Head of Venture to lead FlexGrid-HV, a specialized global venture focused on services in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS). These technologies are pivotal for integrating renewable energy, enhancing grid stability, and ensuring efficient long-distance power transmission, essential for achieving a sustainable energy future.

As the Head of Venture of FlexGrid-HV, you will lead our new specialized global venture focused on HVDC and FACTS. This role encompasses pioneering growth in these critical sectors of the energy transition. As the Head of Venture, you will strategically guide FlexGrid-HV to establish DNV as a dominant force in HVDC and FACTS markets. You will define the strategic direction, support customers with their current and future HV power system advisory needs, and drive business growth. Your leadership will be instrumental in managing specialist resources, ensuring customer satisfaction, and shaping the future of the transmission grid. Initially you will lead a global management team of 4 FTE, carry integral responsibility for P&L and focus on growing the sales & delivery teams with both DNV internal and external resources.

Responsibilities include:

Define and implement the strategic vision, identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities based on customer needs and market dynamics. Conduct thorough market analysis and leverage your strong industry network to identify trends and opportunities in the HVDC and FACTS sectors, differentiating our offerings and leading innovation initiatives. This proactive approach, along with closely engaging with commercial opportunities, strengthens and grows the business, adapts service offerings to market risks, and fosters a doer/seller culture. Proactively engage with current and potential customers to deeply understand their needs, delivering tailored solutions that add significant value, while simultaneously enhancing the organization's visibility and reputation through strategic marketing and branding initiatives. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and partners to bolster DNV’s market presence and influence. Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of HVDC and FACTS solutions. Foster a culture of collaboration and exceptional employee experience, by encouraging teamwork within the venture and across the organization, while also working closely with regional Power Grids organizations, key account managers, and the Service Area network to deliver outstanding customer service and consistent service delivery. What is Required:

Proven Track Record & Strategic Vision : A proven track record in designing and implementing strategies that grow businesses, with a deep understanding of the power grids industry, foresight to identify market trends, and the ability to articulate a strategic vision for the future. Client Relationships & Influence: The ability to build strong relationships, influence others, and maintain a focus on client relationship building and innovation. Entrepreneurial Mindset & Commercial Aptitude : An entrepreneurial drive, a growth mindset, and strong commercial aptitude, focused on building and expanding personal and professional networks. Leadership & Inclusive Interpersonal Skills : Experience in leading and coaching diverse teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and innovation, with authentic leadership skills that engage and develop employees. Adaptability & Problem-Solving : Being able to respond effectively to changes and challenges in the business environment, analyse complex situations, and solve problems effectively. Qualifications : Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Systems, an MBA, or a comparable Master’s degree, paired with several years of strong relevant energy industry experience. They must also possess strong written and verbal English communication skills, demonstrate effective and pragmatic communication, and be willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time to meet business needs.
