Senior Team Lead

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Team Lead for a full-time position, to strengthen our Schiphol International Airport Refund team. In this role you enable the business to achieve the commercial objectives by operating at our service counters. Together with the team of Refund Operators, you provide excellent customer service to our international customers on a daily basis and successfully process the refund documents.

As Senior Team Lead you will, in addition to your main responsibility to perform refunding tasks, lead and coach a multi-cultural team of 15-20 Refund Operators with a high quality of accuracy and service expectations.

Main duties and responsibilities

In this role you will have several responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Refunding Global Blue Tax-Free Forms for our customers from outside of the EU at the refunding service desks.

Responsible for providing the correct information concerning refund procedures and process to the customers

Support in the recovery of Tax-Free Forms working collaboratively with Authorities and other Global Blue departments

Monitoring refund operator productivity and providing constructive feedback to increase efficiency

Pro-actively help to reduce refunding mistakes

Responsible for till and cash management for the office at the beginning and end of working hours to ensure the amounts are correct according to the company’s policy

Support other Refund Operations (Downtown offices) and the ability to train externally, Agents, Partners and Outlets on the refunding processes and rules

Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports as needed

Leadership and coaching responsibility for the local team of Refund Operators developing and preparing training material ensuring the day-to-day quality and accuracy of the refunding processes is upheld

Ensure optimal presence, signage and opening hours supporting the Airport Manager in rosters and scheduling

Preferable skills and competencies

To be successful in the role you:

Are able to provide an excellent level of customer service and understand how to build and maintain relationships

Are able to handle stress and to work in a fast-paced environment

Are fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin) a bonus. Other helpful languages are Dutch, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian and Spanish

Are able to provide a certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, VOG) via the Dutch State Secretary for Justice and Security

Are flexible with working hours when required and a team player in a cross-cultural environment

Have a superior attention to details of numbers

Business Knowledge/Educational Background

Experience in face-to-face customer contact

Experience in managing tills

Commercial experience in an international environment

Experience in leading and coaching a team
