About PhotonDelta
PhotonDelta is a growth accelerator for the photonic chip industry. Photonic chips, also known as Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), are chips that use photons instead of electrons to sense, process, and transmit data at unparalleled speed and sensitivity. The use of PICs allows for the creation of devices that are smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient and can contribute to solving various societal and technological challenges, such as reducing the energy consumption of data centres, safe autonomous driving, cost-effective monitoring of diseases, and more efficient food production.
Over the years, PhotonDelta has established an ecosystem of organisations that research, design, develop, and manufacture photonic chip technology. PhotonDelta actively supports the ecosystem by stimulating collaboration between partners, providing funding, and connecting them with viable markets.
In April 2022, PhotonDelta’s proposal for the Dutch national growth fund was successfully awarded €1.1 billion. These funds are designated for the expansion of the ecosystem, industrialised production, and the development of application technology. A part of the funds is allocated as a subsidy for projects that are executed by our partners in the ecosystem. This includes Universities, Applied Research Institutions and commercial companies.
Role overview
The Manager Subsidy Programmes is part of the Subsidy Programmes team. The team is responsible for the programme lines industrialisation and application technology of the National Growth Fund plan PhotonDelta and, as such, is responsible for all the projects in these programme lines that are executed by partners that receive a subsidy from PhotonDelta.
As a Programme Manager you are responsible for the direct contact with the project partners who receive a subsidy through PhotonDelta. You will proactively engage with all partners and build a solid relationship of trust and mutual goals. To be able to have valuable discussions about technology project risks, progress, and challenges, it is strongly preferred to have knowledge of the PIC/EIC industry. The objective of the job is to make sure the Dutch national growth fund programme lines application technology and industrialisation deliver on the planned output and realise the objectives as described in the submitted plan.
Key responsibilities
The subsidies controlled must have an impact on the Dutch PIC industry. Although the potential impact is initially concluded at the approval stage, keeping track of progress and reporting is how to drive the impact. In order to drive the results, the biggest success factor will be the ability to build relationships with all the partners. This way you create strong engagement and alignment between PhotonDelta and the partners, get in-depth knowledge about the opportunities and risks of the project, and truly stimulate collaboration between the partners.
Your profile
Preferably, you have been a project manager for a minimum of 5 years in a high-tech environment, and you deeply understand how complex managing and reporting on projects is. Ideally, you have a Semicon or PIC industry background. You fully master the English and Dutch languages, both in speaking and writing.
